On the afternoon of May 8th, the 2023 Labor Model and Advanced Workers Award Ceremony for Tongzhou District of Nantong City was held at the Tongzhou District Cultural and Art Center Theater. Gu Guoxin, an employee of Nantong Tianhong Environmental Services Co., Ltd., was awarded the title of "Labor Model of Tongzhou District, Nantong City".
Nantong Tianhong is a team with a glorious tradition of "being particularly capable of fighting, enduring hardship, and dedicating oneself". It has trained a large number of provincial and municipal labor models such as Chen Zhen, Gu Zhenyong, Wu Hanzhang, Wang Yujun, and Chen Yonglin. With correct guidance and strong support from the leaders at all levels of China Tianying, under the leadership of the labor model team, all Tianhong people silently stick to their posts, carefully protect Tongzhou City, and always adhere to the goal-oriented approach, sounding the "charge" to guard the environment with iron determination; adhere to the problem-oriented approach, resolutely tackle "tough problems" with iron fist; adhere to the results-oriented approach, and fully play their role in the environmental protection "tough battle".
Gu Guoxin, who has joined the labor model team, is currently the director of the machine sweeping and cleaning department of Nantong Tianhong Environmental Services Co., Ltd. Since he started working in environmental sanitation in 1995, he has been fighting on the front line of environmental sanitation for 28 years. During these 28 years, he has been willing to contribute, dedicated to his job, and always willing to take on responsibilities. He silently sticks to the forefront of environmental sanitation, using his insignificant efforts to make more and more people pay attention to the city's appearance, care for environmental hygiene, and respect environmental sanitation workers.
Taking on heavy responsibilities and taking the initiative
During the COVID pandemic period, in order to ensure the normal operation of the work and the safety of the operators, Gu Guoxin worked tirelessly, strengthened the epidemic prevention and control management of the department's operators, vehicles, and stations, prepared sufficient epidemic prevention materials, held several meetings to provide epidemic prevention training for frontline personnel, and clarified specific work requirements during the epidemic.
During the national health review and the long-term management of civilized cities, Gu Guoxin did not miss a beat and made sure to "not neglect the essentials and seize the key points". Every day, 48 washing and sweeping cars were dispatched to carry out fine cleaning on main and secondary roads, pedestrian walkways, agricultural markets, commercial districts, and other areas, and road patrols were carried out comprehensively and dynamically to improve the cleaning quality. Through continuous use of fog cannon and sprinkler vehicles to spray water and reduce dust, air quality was improved, and the breeding and transmission of bacteria and viruses were effectively reduced.
Working with illness, without complaining about hardship
Gu Guoxin has had rheumatoid back pain for more than ten years, but as long as there is work to be done, he insists on working with illness and never complains about hardship.
Preventing and controlling air pollution and dust has always been a key task of Nantong Tianhong. However, during the Spring Festival, there were not enough on-duty personnel to ensure the quality of the work, so Gu Guoxin gave up his rest time and insisted on working on the front line. He personally drove the vehicle and washed the roads, reduced dust using the fog cannon wherever it was needed, and made every effort to prevent and control air pollution. He worked hard during the holidays to provide a clean and refreshing urban environment for the general public.
Hardworking and diligent, and striving for excellence
In dust prevention and control work, faced with the demand from higher authorities that "key road surfaces should always be kept moist, and fog cannon vehicles should be used frequently", Gu Guoxin actively thought about countermeasures. After finishing daily work, he and his colleagues went to the main and secondary roads in the city to record detailed road information and make comparisons. Based on the actual road conditions, they optimized dust prevention and control work from the aspects of increasing the frequency of sprinkling operations, mechanical sweeping operations, pedestrian walkway flushing frequency, and fog cannon dust reduction frequency.
The honor received is not only encouragement but also a spur. Nantong Tianhong will take labor models such as Gu Guoxin as examples and continue to vigorously promote the spirit of environmental sanitation that dares to take on responsibilities, is proactive, and serves the people wholeheartedly.
