CNTY recently inked a cooperation agreement with Vietnam Huy Anh Environmental Protection Company in Hanoi, to build a 1000t/d waste-to-energy (WtE) facility in Vietnam's Hung Yen Province. Executive Vice Chairman of Vietnam-China Friendship Association, former Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Vietnamese Ambassador to China, Nguyen Van Tho, along with government and business representatives from Vietnam's Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Construction, Hanoi Municipality, Phu Tho Province, and Thanh Hoa Province attended the meeting and witnessed the signing of the agreement.
Situated in the southeast of Hanoi, and bordering Bac Ninh, Hung Yen and Thai Binh, Hung Yen Province, a pivotal industrial hub in northern Vietnam, boasts a land area of 930 square kilometers and a population of nearly 2 million. As Vietnam progresses economically and socially, so do the developmental prospects and investment potential in Hung Yen Province, accentuating the need for urban habitat improvement and waste management.
As a leading player in environmental protection and new energy businesses, CNTY has extensively integrated into Vietnam's economic and social landscape, with remarkable outcomes. Its 4000t/d WtE project in Hanoi, an industry benchmark, has garnered government and social support from both countries, lauded as a "model of successful China-Vietnam cooperation". Its Thanh Hoa and Phu Tho WtE projects are progressing steadily in alignment with the highest standards. The proposed investment in a WtE project in Hung Yen Province will enhance the Company's operations in Vietnam, foster regional synergies, and consolidate its first-mover advantage in the local market and potentially the broader Southeast Asian WtE sector, invigorating its international development strategy.
Going forward, CNTY will remain committed to implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's Belt and Road Initiative and Vietnamese President To Lam's Green New Development Concept. The company plans to bolster its strategic ventures in Vietnam's environmental and new energy sectors, building on the successful construction and operation of existing projects. By leveraging its technological, capital, and management strengths, CNTY seeks to boost Vietnam's economic and societal sustainability with its green solutions.
